3 Ways to Show Appreciation for Nurses | Sandi Parkey Pink Zebra Independent Consultant

It is not how much you do, but how much love you put in the doing.—Mother Teresa

National Nurses Week is recognized this year from May 6 through May 12.

I think we can all agree that our nurses have been working overtime in the last few months. This week—or even this month—is the perfect time to celebrate our nurses and thank them for everything they have done and do for our community!

There are a number of ways you can help to celebrate nurses in your community. Here are three ideas:

Drop Off or Donate Coffee or Lunch

You know how much coffee can help you make it through the day. The same is true for nurses!

Taking care to stay within social distancing/stay at home guidance where you live, consider buying coffee at a local coffee shop or a takeout meal at a nearby restaurant for the nurses at your doctor’s office. In this way, you can also support a small business while celebrating nurses.

Write a Handwritten Note

Don’t you just love that feeling of getting a letter in the mail? It is one of the lost art forms that honestly still means so much to the receiver.

Think about writing handwritten notes to the nurses who have or still make a difference in your life. You can even get your children in on the celebrating by having them color a picture for you to put in the envelope with a handwritten note as something extra to help bring a smile to their face!

Sprinkle Them With Love
