A New Year for New Trends in Home Decor | Sandi Parkey Pink Zebra Independent Consultant

With most of us spending more time than ever at home over the past year, it is no wonder that many people are starting to think about how they want to redecorate their home. Are you one of them?

What’s trending when it comes to decor? Read on as I offer some insight.

The times are changing, and home decor is no different. Let’s take a look at ways home decor is changing for the new year:

Bring on the Color

While all-white walls and countertops were the fad for the past few years, you will probably start to see more color in 2021.

The addition of color won’t just be for an accent wall, either, as that trend is starting to go away, too, in the new year. Many feel as though accent walls can be too distracting. Now color is being brought into the interior of our homes for all four walls rather than just one.

Peel-and-stick wallpaper also seems to be making a name for itself. While this design trend helps pack a punch to any room, it can also be easily changed if you get tired of it.

Use the Door as Decor

Remember how barn doors were in everyone’s home design in at least one room of the home? It seems as though the barn door design is being replaced with pocket or French doors.

As a result, when looking for new doors for your home, consider looking outside the barn door, as this trend seems to be on its way out.

Say Goodbye to Matching

2021 is also proving to interior designers that not every piece of furniture, especially in the bedroom, has to be all “matchy-matchy.” Instead, this year is opening up the idea that your bedroom suite doesn’t have to be from the same showroom.

Let your personality shine by choosing different types of pieces of different designs for things like the dresser, bed and nightstand.

The good news about Pink Zebra is that our products can match any new decor you put in place inside your home! Check out my collection of Sprinkles and Shades today.
