Be as Productive as Possible for the Holiday Season | Sandi Parkey Pink Zebra Independent Consultant
Although it might seem a little crazy to already be talking about the holiday season, it is actually not such a bad idea. For many of us, the holiday season tends to appear out of nowhere.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you were actually better prepared for the holidays so that you could really take in and enjoy the holiday season this year?
As a Pink Zebra consultant, preparation is one of my top skills. And I want to share my tips so that you can be as prepared as possible for the holiday season!
It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
The holidays are meant to be a season of enjoyment. However, they can quickly become a season of stress if we let them. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be this way.
Let’s take a look at some ways you can better prepare for the holiday season this year:
Set a Date
Sometime before the month of September is over, you need to make a date with yourself so that you can take time to sit down and evaluate your holiday season. What do you have planned for the holidays?
Mark down the events that you and your family do every year. Then consider planning some new activities here and there.
It is important to consider everything, such as family traditions, work events, community activities, etc. You want your calendar to be an accurate depiction of what you have going on this holiday season.
Then you want to take a look and see—have you overscheduled yourself and your family? Are there certain events you can skip? You want to be able to enjoy events without it becoming a bear on your physical and mental health.
Make a Budget
Just like you prepared your holiday calendar, you also want to prepare your holiday budget. How much are you willing to set aside for the holidays?
And you don’t just want to think about gifts. You also want to consider the cost of decorations, new outfits, hostess presents, kids’ holiday parties, your work party, etc.
Add it all up, decide if it’s all important and necessary, and then budget it out!
Take Time for You
In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, do not forget to take time for you. Just as at any other time, you need to make sure you fill your own cup so that you can pour into the cups of others this holiday season.
Carve out a small bit of time every day that’s just for you—and don’t cancel on yourself!
