Countdown to Christmas | Sandi Parkey, Pink Zebra Independent Consultant

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Now that the Thanksgiving holiday has come to an end, it is time to start focusing on the December holidays.

If you already feel behind on the holiday season, don’t worry. I am here to help you get in a plan in place that can help you enjoy the season even more!

Get Your Christmas List Ready

Now that December has arrived, there are a few tasks to get started on now in order to be better prepared for the holiday season:

First, organize your house as much as possible during the first week of December. From holiday decorations to the chaos of everyday life, your house can get disorganized quickly.

Don’t save the holiday cleaning and organizing for last minute—tackle each room of your home now.

Clean out your fridge and pantry to help make room for holiday meals and ingredients. Get the guest room ready for out-of-town loved ones coming to visit. By getting your home clean and organized in the beginning of the month, it will save you a lot of stress later.

Second, if you plan to send out a holiday card this season, go ahead and get them ready and on their way. Because the service is a little slow these days, you want to get these sent out as early in the month as possible—or plan for cards marking the new year instead.

Finally, if you are planning to host the meal this holiday season, get your menu ready by at least the second week of December. If there are any specialty items (like a ham or turkey) that need to be ordered, do that as soon as possible, since many other people will be doing the same thing. You want to make sure you are able to get what you need before things sell out.

By tackling these items early in the month, you can reap the benefits later.
