Home Office DIY

As a Pink Zebra Consultant, you get the luxury of working out of the comfort of your very own home! This means you get to avoid the early morning traffic, the crazy commutes, waking up before daylight, and much more. If you’re a new consultant and don’t have a place to work at home, no problem! Creating your very own office space is simple and inexpensive if you have the right tools and know-how. It’s important to keep all of your files and special documents organized and in a safe place! If you’re interested in giving your workspace a mini makeover, try these neat DIY projects:

  1. Create your own bulletin board. There are so many options for creating your very own personalized bulletin board! A bulletin board is a wonderful addition to any office space, because it’s a place where you can hang up your favorite inspirational messages and quotes to keep you motivated on a daily basis! If you’re alright with paying a little more, you can purchase corkboard anywhere. If you want to stay cheap, Home Depot sells large sound-deafening composite boards for $10! Find your favorite fabric or even wrapping paper and staple it around the board. Hang up your board with washers and ta-da! You have a lovely piece of art to hang above your desk.

  2. Update your boring office chair. It can get expensive to reupholster a boring black swivel office chair. However, it’s possible to update it yourself! All you need is an old ugly office chair, some fabric, and a glue gun or upholstery stapler! Remove the top cushion from the chair (it should just snap off) and tuck the fabric around it. Snap it back into place and you’re halfway done! For the seat of the chair, lay the seat facedown on your fabric, fold the corners, and then glue and staple in place. This whole project should only take you about 15-20 minutes and will make a huge difference in your office space!

  3. Spray paint your office supplies. Have you ever dreamed of having a gold or silver stapler? Or maybe give your scissors a sparkly makeover? This DIY project will only take you a few minutes to do, and will give your desk space that extra pop of pizazz. All you have to do is pick a color scheme for your workspace, and head to the store to buy spray paint. Pick a color that matches your theme, and choose a few office supplies that can handle being painted. Take them outside and spray them over cardboard or grass, and let them dry overnight. This is a quick and fun project that even the kids could help you complete!
