Planning a Family-Friendly Memorial Day Party | Sandi Parkey Pink Zebra Independent Consultant
Memorial Day is right around the corner. Are you in charge of hosting the holiday weekend?
Let me put my planning skills as a Pink Zebra consultant to the test by giving you some ideas on how to plan a fun and memorable Memorial Day weekend party!
Take the Memorial Day Party Outdoors
If the weather behaves itself, plan on spending Memorial Day outside!
You can set up a long table and chairs for guests to sit and enjoy a meal, while your backyard can have games spaced out for both children and adults—such as bean bags, volleyball, ring toss, horseshoes, baseball, soccer and badminton.
Make the Cooking Easy on Yourself
When hosting a large number of people for the holiday weekend, you want to make sure you are able to spend time with your guests. If you are stuck behind the grill all day, then you risk missing out on all the Memorial Day fun.
Who says burgers and hot dogs have to be on the menu? Instead, cook up pizzas on the grill so that the grill is doing most of the cooking—not you!
And better yet—you can even get the kids involved by allowing them to create their own pizzas using a variety of toppings!
Plan a Movie Ending
You are already outside, so why not put up an outdoor movie screen and end the holiday with a family-friendly movie! Not only will your neighbors be grateful that you chose a movie over fireworks to end the night, but you will always remember the time you watched a movie right in your own backyard!
And isn’t that the whole point of a holiday—to make memories?
