Removing Your Mom Guilt | Sandi Parkey Pink Zebra Independent Consultant
At Pink Zebra, there’s a team of ladies right with you who understand that “mom guilt” oh so well. We want to encourage you to leave it behind!
Break Away and Be Yourself!
Whether you are a “stay-at-home” mom or a “go-work-in-an-office” mom, we all feel mom guilt. No mom is free from it. The stay-at-home moms feel bad about spending even 20 minutes on their phone looking at Facebook or texting with a friend while the kids are off playing in another room, and the office-job mom feels bad about letting someone else watch her kids more hours of the week than she is at home with them. So no mom is able to escape the mom guilt. But there is something that all moms can do—and that’s just throw the guilt away!
It’s OK to not have a balanced meal on the dinner table every single night for your kids and, instead, have the local burger joint feeding your family. It’s OK to step aside for 20 minutes and enjoy that trashy daytime television show or Snapchat with your friends about how you are already yelled out for the day because your daughter had a meltdown over you putting the wrong colored hair bow on her head.
There are only so many hours in the day, and you can only do so much. You are only human, even though society tends to make us feel like we have to be SUPER-human—but who really wants that role? Instead, focus on the role of just being a mom. The role of the person who is there for her kids as much as she can be, while also making sure she has taken care of herself.
And by the way, if no one has told you yet, YOU ARE A WONDERFUL MOTHER, and YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB!
