What Better Time for a Fresh Start Than a New Year? | Sandi Parkey Pink Zebra Independent Consultant

As another year comes to an end, it is a perfect time to sit and reflect. Did you accomplish everything on your 2019 resolution list? Is there anything you would change about the year if you could?

While you cannot go back and repeat the year, you can move forward. With the start of 2020 only day away, I challenge you to take aim at how you want next year. Let’s take a look at ways you can take advantage of the fresh start you have been given once Jan. 1 rolls around.

Try Something New

I don’t know about you, but I always have the best of intentions to try a new hobby, only to never get that dream off the ground. But not this year!

This year, let us all make a pact to try something new. Whether it is trying new foods, reading a new genre of books or trying out a new hobby, let’s plan on actually doing something new in the new year!

Get Out There

It can be easy to stay in your own bubble and not put yourself out there in fear of embarrassment or failure. But if you don’t try, how can you ever know?

Most people who are successful in life did fail when they tried certain things. But you know what? They eventually tried something, and it worked! They found their success—and that same thing can happen for you.

Do not let fear win. Give it a try!

Make Time for Self-Care

It is so easy for us to put ourselves on the back-burner. But when we do, we are not fueling our own fire within! This year, make it a goal to practice self-care on a regular basis.

It’s important to note that self-care isn’t all about manicures and massages. In fact, that’s only a small piece of the puzzle. Real self-care is about taking action that helps you to strengthen and revitalize.

That may mean carving out regular time to exercise or meditate, it may mean reading more books in 2020, or it may mean something as simple as finally scheduling that mammogram you’ve been putting off. You and your health are vitally important.
