What's Your Resolution?
Oh, January: How I love thee, and how I loathe thee. A brand-new year means a new chance to get things right and to begin fresh! However, it also means a month where resolutions start—only to be set aside after a few months. But what if we—together—make a promise to help support each other in actually accomplishing our resolutions this year?
Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way!
There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to keep our resolutions every year. The problem lies in the fact that we have so much motivation in the beginning that we use all of our energy—and are tired by spring and give up.
As a result, I think it’s wise for us to make only one or two resolutions for this year. This way, we won’t spread ourselves too thin and put more on our plates than we can handle. Life is stressful enough, and resolutions are supposed to help us in life—not cause stress. Therefore, one or two resolutions are all we need to make for the new year.
Also, let’s be realistic when choosing our resolutions for the year. Losing 100 pounds and making a million dollars aren’t realistic goals for most people. Instead, if you want to lose weight, let’s aim to lose at least five pounds a month. If you want to earn more money this year, how about we aim for an extra $100 a month? By being more realistic, we won’t set our expectations too high and fail too quickly. Instead, we will gain even more momentum by hitting the mark each month!
