The Best Breakfasts for Busy Mornings | Sandi Parkey Pink Zebra Independent Consultant

Whether you are working from home, heading to the office, getting your kiddos out the door or just getting ready to start your day, the mornings can be a hectic time for anyone. We all know how important eating a nutritious breakfast is to our health and happiness, but when things get busy, it can be easy to neglect—but because eating breakfast has been shown to lower stress, help with weight control and more, it is something worth prioritizing.

Fortunately, we are here to share some of our favorite breakfast ideas for busy mornings so you can stay energized without losing a ton of time in the mornings.

Breakfast Ideas for Busy Mornings

A green smoothie. Smoothies are great for busy mornings because they can be whipped up easily either at breakfast time or the night before, and they keep well in the fridge so you can have one for every day of the week. Combining your favorite fruits and vegetables like spinach, cucumbers and bananas with some peanut butter, protein powder, oats and milk can create a healthy, nutrient-rich breakfast in no time—and they have the added benefit of being easy to sip on the go!

Overnight oats. Though oats are extremely nutritious, busy mornings likely mean not having the time to make oatmeal on the stovetop—but that is where overnight oats come in! Overnight oats take all the prep work out of oatmeal but still provide you with all the nutrition, making them a great breakfast option. The night before, mix old-fashioned oats with milk and add in whatever toppings you like, such as brown sugar, apples or nuts, then refrigerate. In the morning, you have softened oats full of nutrition ready to go.

Peanut butter and fruit toast. Toast is an old-fashioned breakfast that will never go out of style, but there are a few ways you can make it even more nutritious to start your day off right. Choose a whole grain bread, top it with all-natural peanut butter, and add sliced bananas, apples, strawberries or blueberries on top for a quick and filling bite.
