Your Guide to Being the Ultimate Sports Mom! | Sandi Parkey Pink Zebra Independent Consultant

Oh, yes. If you are a mom, you really understand what “spring” means. While other people might be able to stop and smell the freshly blooming flowers, you are in the midst of trying to juggle sports schedules.

But have no fear, when you work as a Pink Zebra consultant, you are able to tackle any task that comes your way!

Your Guide to Handling Spring Sports

When you are a “sports mom,” you wear a variety of hats. From chauffeur to cheerleader and nurse to short order cook, it can become very overwhelming trying to handle it all.

However, that doesn’t mean it can’t be done. With a little preparation (and a lot of planning), you can become a pro sports mom while your athlete is becoming a pro on the field.

First, plan ahead. If you know there’s going to be a practice and game in a given week, plan and prep meals that you can easily put in the oven or crockpot and not have to spend hours cooking in case practice or a game runs late.

In addition, pack what you can ahead of time in the car, including sporting equipment, uniform, non-perishable drinks/snacks, cooler, umbrella, sunscreen and so on, so that you will have what you need for a game or practice.

Second, have a calendar available on your phone that syncs with everyone else’s in the family, as well as have a regular calendar in a room everyone visits (like the kitchen) so that everyone is on the same page of who needs to be where and at what time.

Finally, always bring extras. Extra uniform (if able), extra bandaids, extra water, extra food and so on. You never know when a practice or game might run late, and you always want to be prepared so that you and your child both remain healthy, hydrated and well taken care of no matter where you are.
